No one on Earth
but those with scales and feathers
can remember Pangea.
When all around
was a public affair
and integration was
a way of life
not just an amendment.
The curtain of life was drawn wide open
revealing a humble
transcontinental love
stretching from one tip to the other
combined to the fullest.
Then we came along.
With opposable thumbs
and our sober calculation minds
and Pangea
assiduously began drifting away
Until each piece was its own
calling to its limbs in other waters.
Our campaigns of society can never reverse
and address
Pangea.
What us primates
will never know.
